Crowdfunding with Rewards (Perks)

Crowdfunding with rewards: Encourage your supporters to donate at a higher level by offering merchandise or other incentives at different donation amounts. 

How Rewards Work

If you wish to offer rewards for your crowdfunding campaign donors, donors will be prompted to select a certain perk when donating. Though it is possible to donate without selecting a perk, when enabled, the default will be to select a perk. Therefore, perks should only be used when you want to guide a majority of your supporters to select a perk.

Though this feature is popular with some types of crowdfunding campaigns, it is not typical of most Run/Walk/Ride crowdfunding campaigns.

To Enable Rewards

1. To enable perks, click to Edit Campaign and navigate to the
   “Basics” card.
2.  Look for the box Crowdfunding Perks under “Select any optional features you’d like to add to your Experience” and enable it.

Add Rewards

1. Navigate to the “Crowdfunding” card.
2. Click the “Create a Reward” button
3. Add the donation level (amount), a Title, and a description of the perk. You can also add an image. The suggested size is 1125 x 840 px.
4. If you have a limited number of a certain perk, you can set a limit on the number of that item that is available. Once the limit is reached, that perk will no longer be available.
5. Hide the Perk – This option allows you to hide a perk from public view on your Campaign Page. If you hide it, no future donors will be able to see it or select it. However, any existing purchases will not be affected.
6. If you wish to select a term other than Rewards, like Gifts, Perks or a custom term of your choice, this can be done at Advanced Options -> Terminology.

Add Optional Donations (Without Selecting Perks)

To Give donors the option to donate without purchasing perks, go to the “Checkout” card, then look for the box “Allow Supporters to make general contibutions” enable it and set a time and date to stop accepting general contribution. Then Customize the checkout process for donors:

• Set Preset Donation Amounts
• Sort Highest to Lowest, or Lowest to Highest.
• Set Donation Limits, Minimum – Maximum

Good to know:

• Once a crowdfunding campaign is published with perks, you cannot remove the option for perks.
• Optional donations can be made monthly on campaigns with perks. However, perks do not recur monthly.
• Once perks are enabled, you MUST HAVE at least one active perk available for your campaign.
