FITCHBURG — The Montachusett Area and Fitchburg Rotary clubs will host their first “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” charity event Friday at 6 p.m. to support The Arc of Opportunity’s recreation program.

The program, which provides recreation opportunities for the physically and intellectually disabled, receives no state funding and relies solely on fundraising.

“We are planning a fun filled evening of prizes and surprises, there should be fun for all, and a great way to get into the new Red Sox baseball season,” said Fitchburg Rotary Club President Paul Gauvin. “Most importantly, this will be a chance to support one of the finest organizations in our area, The Arc of Opportunity.”

“The Montachusett Area Rotary Club has been proud to support the recreation program at The Arc of Opportunity for the past 25 years,” said President Jim Fusco. “We are excited about this new fundraising event and are looking forward to have a great time for this great cause.”

Admission to the event is $10 per person and includes ballpark food, beer tasting, listening to the game live and a chance to win a flat screen TV. There will also be fun sports activities and both live and silent auctions.

Tickets are available in advance at The Arc of Opportunity reception desk or by calling Karen Fusco at 978-537-1066 or Michelle Gasbarro at 978-514-2556. Tickets will also be available at the door.

The event will be held at The Arc of Opportunity, located on Main Street, but please use the entrance at 161 Boulder Dr.
